About the role To contribute to and support the effectiveness of Nutrition International (NI) programs in India by strengthening financial management, accounting systems, policies, and procedures. This includes ensuring full compliance with NI's established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donor regulations, and applicable legal requirements in India, while supporting accurate financial management, reporting, and accountability. In this role you will : - Support program staff in the India Country Office in preparing project/annual budgets, in collaboration with program teams and under the guidance of the SPFO. - Prepare financial reports, budget analyses, and forecasts for submission to the Senior Program Finance Officer, Project Director, and Country Director for review, decision-making, and further action. - Support Project Director in providing budget utilization by activity in line with donor requirements for monitoring and potential savings and necessary course corrections. - Record all financial transactions related to the India Country Office accurately and on a timely basis in NetSuite. - Ensure accurate maintenance of all country project and contract details within NetSuite, including project codes, budgets, and reporting requirements, financial milestones. - Review contracts in NetSuite to ensure all supporting documentation is complete and that payment milestones are accurately recorded and maintained. - Monitor contract milestone reports on a monthly basis; follow up with program staff on milestones that have exceeded their scheduled activity dates. - Prepare periodic financial reports, expenditure statements, and utilization reports in accordance with donor requirements, reporting schedules, and organizational policies. - Analyse financial reports generated from NetSuite and provide meaningful financial insights to Project Directors and management. - Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and respond to auditor queries in a timely manner. - Maintain audit-ready financial records, ensuring all vouchers and supporting documents are complete, properly filed, and readily accessible. You will come with minimum of 5 years' experience as a finance officer or similar role with good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures with working experience in a program management environment. Well versed with Accounting Software (Microsoft suite or other ERP systems) you will have strong financial management, budgeting, Donor compliance and grant management skills.
