THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Fuel Distribution System Worker Supervisor, Position Description Number D2424000 and is part of the 158th Logistics Readiness Squadron of the Vermont Air National Guard. *This position is also advertised to Active Guard Reserve Airmen under announcement number MVA- AF 26-16. OPEN AREAS OF CONSIDERATION Area I: All current On-board Permanent and Indefinite Dual Status 32 and Title 5 (Competitive and Excepted) Technicians (Tenure: 1-Career, 2-Conditional, 3-Indefinite) - Only those Vermont National Guard members who are in permanent or indefinite technician status as a result of being competitively hired within that National Guard component applying for a position within the component which they are currently employed. Military Grade: Enlisted: Rank will be individually addressed upon selection up to MSgt/E7 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and to safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months Experience or training operating, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, and overhauling fuel systems and components. Experience or training initiating and controlling the movement and storage of fuel supplies by operating high pressure systems with a series of terminals connected by cross-country pipelines or multi-fuel storage and distribution facilities connected by a network of internal pipelines. In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated based on duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics: -Knowledge required to recommendations concerning training plans, new or revised performance standards, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. -Ability to receive grievances and/or complaints, and, after seeking to resolve them informally, brings those of sufficient importance or seriousness to the attention of their superiors. -Skill in explaining work requirements -Ability to plan and distribute work to subordinates on a daily or project-by-project basis. -Ability to maintain production reports and establishes performance standards.
