Entity: Customers & Products Job Family Group: Operations Group Job Description: This is a role within the Castrol organization and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership. Let me tell you about the role The Lab Technician conducts laboratory testing in accordance with established product quality control and laboratory safety procedures. The role involves performing test methods as guided and supported by Chemists, and accurately recording and maintaining all test data after execution. What you will deliver Conduct required tests for base oils, additives, and lubricants under the mentorship from Chemists. Ensure all testing is carried out accurately, safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner , and communicate results to Production within defined timelines and specifications. Ensure raw materials and finished lubricants meet required standards before use or release to customers. Perform laboratory blending trials as instructed by Chemists. Maintain accurate documentation, recordkeeping, test reporting, and sample retention/disposal. Perform basic equipment calibration. Ensure availability of sufficient materials (chemicals, spare parts) for testing equipment. Comply fully with all laboratory, plant, and company safety rules and regulations. Maintain laboratory housekeeping (industrial hygiene). Work in shifts as required. Essential Experience and Job Requirements: Diploma (Associate Degree) in Chemistry or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Other Requirements Basic English Reading Comprehension Skills Basic computer skills. Strong teamwork approach and attention to detail.
