About the role
A LCM maintains strong business relationships with Maersk's Strategic Accounts and is responsible for YoY growth across the Maersk product and services portfolio. LCM's offer transportation and logistics solutions that add value to the client's business, while managing client expectations, and delivering positive results to Maersk.
Responsibilities
- YoY Portfolio Growth
- Management of client's strategic initiatives
- Entry point to customer for all levels of the client organization
- Selling new and additional integrated logistics services including but not limited to: Supply Chain Management & Value Added (VAS) services, Ocean freight, FCL and LCL, Domestic Ground Freight, Airfreight, Transload / Warehousing, and Customs House Brokerage.
- Monitor profitability
- Contract renewal negotiations
- Liaison between Customer and Origin as needed / as escalation point (primarily handled by the PM)
- Problem solving
- Sales Systems familiarity
- Special account handling when needed
- Handling general enquiries
- Liaise with Program Management on strategic issues
- Travel with client when mutually beneficial
- Resolve large and/or complex issues/problems
- Manage by influence resources that do not report to this position (e.g., Program Manager; Logistics Specialist; Customer Service teams)
- LCMs may handle more than one account or be available to act as a sales specialist for the Maersk sales organization.
- Comply with all Federal, Provincial and Local legal requirements
- Maintain technical and professional proficiency
- Attend classes or educational workshops

- We are looking for
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Industry diplomas or certificates (i.e. CIFFA or CITT) would be preferred, but is not required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding or supply chain/ logistics, or shipping industries
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; results and details oriented personality; organizational skills
- Advanced computer literacy and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment
- Good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required; ability to work under pressure; team player
- Ability to work under pressure and provide guidance to staff
- Strong problem solving skills
- PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Technical Skills and Competencies Required
- Ability to make decisions in the absence of management
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
- Ability to train, coach, evaluate and mentor
- Strong and current knowledge of technology platforms, MS Office products, and ability to quickly adapt to new software
