HGV2 Night Delivery Driver

About the role

As an HGV Class 2 Delivery Driver working directly for Flooring Superstore, you'll be delivering linear/rolls of carpet, grass and palletized stock of wood flooring to our stores nationwide . You will be very confident in a heavy manual working environment as you will be loading your vehicle each each day before heading out on the road to make deliveries . Our vehicles are supplied with manual pallet trucks and carpet barrows so you will be confident with heavy manual handling and competent in manual work and working alone . You will ensure high standards of Health and Safety, Customer Service and Legal Compliance at all times. This is a multi-drop role working in all geographical areas making 4 to 7 store deliveries each night. This role does involve driving in all areas of the UK including cities so you would need to be comfortable with this. Our drivers' key responsibilities: To deliver the highest standard of service and be a brand ambassador for the business. Provide an efficient and 'First in Class' delivery service to our customers. Drive safely, obeying the rules of the road and following the correct company procedures To always adhere to the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures. To contribute effectively in our team environment. Complete a daily vehicle and equipment pre-trip and post trip check using our Defect reporting processes and systems. Ensure all customer delivery details are captured accurately via use of PDA system. Hours: You'd be required to work 44 hours per week from Monday - Thursday. Shifts usually start between 5pm - 7.30pm. Flexibility is required to ensure availability at key operational times, this may include a reasonable amount of additional paid overtime hours to meet business needs. Any overtime worked is paid at flat rate.

Requirements

• Full Driving License (HGV Class 2) - no more than 3 points.
• Holder of Driver CPC and current Digi card.
• Multi drop, Home delivery experience preferred .
• Good geographical knowledge
• Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations.
• Polite, courteous, respectful and helpful.
