Job Description: Department Overview Rakuten Mobile is currently focusing heavily on its corporate business. Within this, the Partner Sales Department is responsible for creating and expanding business through partners (MVNOs or sales agencies). Business Incubation Section The Business Incubation Section, which is recruiting for this position, is a team newly established in fiscal year 2026. We are looking for a colleague to take charge of business development and sales, particularly in the IoT field. You will identify companies that can become future business partners among the providers of IoT solutions already in the market and work to expand the Rakuten Mobile MVNO business. Position Details Specific Responsibilities of this Position Your duties will include the following Market Development and Customer Acquisition for IoT Business (Planning & Sales) - Deepening understanding of market needs through the identification, approach, and consultation of potential corporate clients. - Planning, proposing, and consulting on IoT solutions that lead to solving customer challenges. - Contributing to service improvement by feeding market needs and customer feedback back to the service planning team. - Promoting pilot deployments and PoCs (Proof of Concept), and building relationships with customers. - Creating up-sell and cross-sell opportunities from existing customers. Planning and Execution of Collaboration/Partnership Strategies with IoT-related Businesses - Searching for and approaching potential partner companies such as IoT solution providers, device manufacturers, and SIers. - Planning, negotiating, concluding contracts, and building relationships for strategic alliances. - Collaborative service development, solution proposals, and market development. Building Business Schemes and Maximizing Profitability - Considering new business models and designing revenue structures. - Formulating business plans, managing budgets vs. actuals, setting KPIs, and managing progress. - Promoting business smoothly in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Legal, etc.). The team consists of members with a wide range of careers, from experienced mid-career professionals to younger staff. While a certain percentage of members come from the telecommunications industry, those with experience in different industries have also integrated smoothly. Mandatory Qualifications: - At least 3 years of professional experience - High level of communication and presentation skills (ability to coordinate with diverse internal and external stakeholders) - Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel/Word - Ability to communicate in business-level Japanese - TOEIC score of 600 or higher
