About the role
PATH is seeking a Program Coordinator for Nagpur to provide operational and field-level support for the implementation of surveillance strengthening activities (in urban and peri-urban areas). Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day implementation of urban and peri-urban surveillance activities in Nagpur, ensuring timely execution of planned field activities under the guidance of the Program Officer and City Lead.
- Coordinate field visits, supportive supervision schedules, and follow-up actions with urban health facilities, surveillance units, and frontline health functionaries.
- Provide operational support for GIS data collection activities, including facility geo-tagging, and updating location-based information as assigned.
- Assist in facility-level verification of IHIP reporting, documentation of quality aspects, and compilation of observations for review by the Program Officer.
- Support facility-based supply chain assessments through storage practices, and logistics using standardized assessment tools.
- Facilitate logistics and field coordination for training, workshops, supportive supervision visits, and other program events, including participant coordination and documentation.
- Support implementation of City Action Plans by maintaining activity trackers, coordinating meetings, documenting progress, and following up on agreed action points.
- Coordinate with health facilities and field surveillance teams to facilitate smooth execution of planned project activities and field-level communication.
- Assist during outbreak investigations and emergency response activities through coordination, and documentation, as required.
- Maintain project documentation, including field reports, activity trackers, meeting minutes, attendance records, and other implementation records.
- Compile routine implementation updates, field progress reports, and data summaries for submission to the Program Officer and City Lead.
- Perform any other program-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor to support timely and effective implementation of project activities.
- Required Experience and Qualifications
- BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BVSc with a master's in public health (MPH), Epidemiology, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (DPH) / Health Management.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in urban primary healthcare, disease surveillance, public health programme implementation, or health systems strengthening.
- Experience of working in Bihar or comparable urban and peri-urban settings is preferred.
- Field experience in facility-level data collection, community engagement, or health programme logistics.
- Familiarity with the Indian public health system, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies and strategies, particularly NHM, NUHM, Ayushman Bharat, and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme.
- Experience of working with INGOs, state/district surveillance units, or government health programmes will be an added advantage.
- Please note: This position is funded till March 2027; employment after the project period is subject to the availability of funds.
- Must have legal authorization to work in India.
