About you and this role - Dow has an exciting opportunity for an API Inspector located in Seadrift, TX Provide subject matter expertise in the area of non-destructive testing and assessing the mechanical integrity of process containing equipment and piping systems. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Provides a daily resource that utilizes operations knowledge and experience to proactively assist the Operations Team with daily activities that support operation and maintenance of the plant in a safe, reliable and optimal manner. Provides shift to shift continuity for the overall coordination of activities within a plant. This role also works with the Tech Staff to assist with maintaining operating discipline and training resources. Responsibilities - Responsible for conducting both external and internal visual inspections of APIs and evaluating results from preventive and predictive inspection/testing processes. Key responsibilities include: Providing recommendations and developing comprehensive plans for equipment inspection and repair. Serving as the primary contact for mechanical integrity matters concerning equipment and piping, ensuring adherence to established practices and procedures across the site or within assigned areas. Optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance inspection procedures and determining appropriate frequencies. Qualifications - A minimum of a High School Diploma OR GED equivalent is required. The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Inspection and/or Non Destructive Testing (NDT). At least one current API certification (API 510, 653, or 570) or AWS CWI required. Must have a current, valid US driver's license. Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications- Level II or higher in at least two of these NDT disciplines: PT, MT, UT, or RT Film Interpretation. Familiarity with CMMS and ASME Codes and Standards. Experience with advanced NDT techniques such as Borescope, GUL, MSS, IRIS, Eddy Current, or Ultrasonic Shear Wave. Communication: Effective communication to resolve process issues and act as a resource for other operators and technicians. Detail Oriented: The ability to identify equipment requiring maintenance, clear and tag equipment, and issue Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work. Time Management: The ability to plan, prioritize, and execute tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve goals. Teamwork and Leadership : Demonstrating leadership skills, inspiring others, and working independently with minimal supervision within an empowered team environment. Coordination Skills: Ability to effectively align, communicate, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., maintenance, engineering, operations) to execute inspection activities, resolve mechanical integrity issues, and ensure compliance with site procedures and standards. Planning: Ability to develop, prioritize, and execute structured inspection and maintenance plans for process equipment and piping systems by leveraging inspection data, regulatory requirements, and operational needs to ensure mechanical integrity and reliability.
