Description of Work Reporting to the Associate Warden of Custody, this position is responsible for managing the operations of an institutional housing unit within a close-custody correctional institution. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Determining and evaluating program design necessary to meet the needs of the offender population. - Coordinating programs and services with staff. - Performing orientation with offenders which includes: administration, disciplinary segregation, education, mental health, operations, programs, and work assignments. - Final approval of authority on unit classification and disciplinary committees. - Working in accordance with departmental regulations and established procedures. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $43,267 - $75,718 This job posting will close at 11:59 pm, the night before the end date listed above. About the Division of Institutions : The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel. About Southern Correctional Institution: Southern Correctional Institution is located in Troy, North Carolina and houses up to 700 male offenders in a close, medium, and minimum custody facility.
