- Drilling - environmental drilling, ground disturbance procedures, soil description and monitoring well installation
- Soil sampling - field screening, soil sample collection procedures
- Field notes - taking organized and details field notes, recording observations
- Safety - leading and participating in field meetings, oversight of subcontractors, contribute to and following safe work practices, developing/following/implementing safety plans and a day to day basis, recognizing hazards, confidence in exercising stop work authority.
- Strong team work, able to listen to requirements and work well with others
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
- Flexible and hard working
- Able to work outdoors, often in inclement weather conditions, physically able to walk long distances in rugged terrain and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment.

AECOM Environment team is looking for an Environmental Technician/Scientist to assist in environmental investigation programs such as environmental drilling investigation, soil, groundwater and soil vapour sampling. This role will be based in Halifax, NS. The successful candidate will be working within a team of other technicians and engineers under the supervision of senior scientists and professional engineers and geologists. The position will involve assisting in all aspects of environmental projects with a focus on field work including subcontractor coordination. This position is a full-time role.
