About the role
The Director, Marketplace owns end-to-end marketplace performance across a defined portfolio of markets. You are accountable for growth, profitability, and overall marketplace health. You operate with full ownership of the P&L and are responsible for balancing demand, supply, delivery quality, customer experience, and financial performance at scale. - Deliver against core OKRs like GOV, revenue, VP and contribution margin as well as the right inputs: selection, quality, and affordability.
- Lead weekly and monthly performance reviews
- Identify growth opportunities and operational risks and drive action
- Own Marketplace Health
- Act as the accountable leader for marketplace health
- Balance supply and demand to maintain a strong customer experience and healthy unit economics
- Make system-level trade-offs that may impact multiple functions
- Ensure short-term execution supports long-term structural strength
- Drive Cross-Functional Execution
- Align stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Support, Finance, and Product
- Set clear priorities and ensure disciplined execution
- Influence resource allocation and strategic focus, allocate capital according to priorities for your markets
- Remove roadblocks and escalate structural issues when needed
- Build and Scale the Marketplace Playbook
- Lead geographic expansion and market management initiatives
- Strengthen merchant assortment and commercial performance
- Drive self-delivery readiness and operational preparedness
- Unlock growth through occasion-based strategies and day-part expansion
- Codify and scale best practices across markets
- Act as a Culture Carrier and Representative
- Role model Wolt's values and leadership principles
- Lead with ownership, transparency, and accountability
- Represent Wolt externally when needed with partners and stakeholders and the media
- Take ownership in existential situations
