Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience:
  • Advanced Practice Provider I:
  • Nurse Practitioner Educational Path:
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
  • Master's or higher-level degree in Nursing.
  • OR
  • Physician Assistant Educational Path:
  • License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
  • Advanced Practice Prover II:
  • AND
  • Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Educational Path:
  • The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park to qualify for the APP II position.
  • NOTE:
  • As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
