The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Community Responsibility at Carnegie Mellon University will serve in a unique capacity to impact the ethical development of Carnegie Mellon University students. The Office of Community Responsibility (OCR) encourages each student to cultivate high ethical standards of conduct, congruent with the expectations of the Carnegie Mellon University community. Using a restorative lens, the Office of Community Responsibility facilitates learning through reflective, community-centered processes. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by managing key administrative and programmatic aspects of the university's community standards and academic integrity actions processes, educate students on community expectations, and ensure that university responses to violations of CMU standards are developmental and representative of our values. The Graduate Assistant will be expected to complete 20 office hours per week throughout the academic year on our campus in Pittsburgh, PA. The supervision of the Graduate Assistant will be the responsibility of the Director of the Office of Community Responsibility or their designee. The term of this assistantship is one year in length beginning as early as August 1, 2026 and concluding no later than May 31, 2027. Core responsibilities include: Managing follow-up for community standards complaints and academic integrity violations reported to the Office of Community Responsibility; Coordinating workflow for academic and non-academic violations including documentation, tracking, and reporting; Facilitate educational programs for the campus community; Participate in departmental meetings as needed; Oversee and review applicable policies and procedures; and Other duties as assigned.
