About the role
The Senior Editor of SuperSTEM will be an integral part of the magazine's editorial team. Responsibilities
- Be a self-directed, high-level contributer to the editorial process from ideation to publication for student- and teacher-facing materials, both print and digital, for SuperSTEM.
- Work with the Education Editor to align content with NGSS and state science standards and with the whole team to conceive of multidisciplinary STEM packages-lesson plans, activity sheets, hands-on experiments, slideshows-that fulfill our product promises.
- Write video scripts as assigned, record videos of experiments, produce slideshows, assist in digital STEM games ideation, and collaborate with the Education Editor and the Editorial Director to schedule, draft, and release e-newsletters for SuperSTEM.
- Manage assigning and editing of student edition articles in collaboration with the Editorial Director. This entails assigning, requesting photos, editing copy, inputting copy edits, doing final reads, and submitting invoices for approval.
- Mentor and provide guidance to SuperSTEM's associate editor and contributing writers in article framing, tone, and voice for stylistic consistency and to ensure maximum engagement, comprehension, and accessiblity for students.

- Knowledge of core science areas and a passion for science education
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

- Ability to conduct interviews with scientists and interpret their research in a way that kids will understand
