• Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual

As an Editor at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., you will help ensure that high-quality materials, such as proposals, manuals, project reports, presentations, and technical papers, are produced for both internal and external customers. As an Editor, a typical day might include the following: Proofread, edit, and format presentations, documents, manuals, guides, proposals, and/or other published material. Develop and maintain a high skill level in editing, proofreading, and producing technical documentation. Collaborate with authors, reviewers, and others to edit deliverables, plan projects, and meet deadlines. Consider applying for this position if you have: A minimum of 2 years relevant experience editing/proofreading/producing technical documentation Strong proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills Strong understanding of MS Office software The ability to work under pressure and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines The ability to collaborate to produce high-quality, technically accurate material The ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
