About the role
This position supports the efficient operations of the Supply Chain department and all departments that have receivables. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: - Maintain highest possible inventory accuracy of all raw materials and packaging to ensure Production can adhere to their production schedule with no stock outs - Maintain a safe and clean work environment which includes maintaining our 6S program - Per schedule, perform cycle counting of all raw materials and packaging - Receive all inventoried items, verify they are received in usable condition and maintain the inventory of such items - Properly label and scan all incoming inventoried items to facilitate payment through A/P - Perform random inspections on all incoming inventoried items and record information in log - Notify Purchasing of any discrepancies that are found during the random inspections - Load and unload (forklift) shuttle trucks that run between the south plant, the north plant and the off-site warehouse - Responsible for unloading all ancillary deliveries; verifying the correct number of packages are received and processing the receipt into JDE to verify items have been physically delivered to our location - Process receipt of all non-stock items in JDE per the standard operating procedures and see that appropriate departments are notified that their receipt is ready for pick-up - Responsible for the secure storage of items until retrieved by the appropriate department - Ability to follow through with paperwork to ensure receipt is satisfactory and process final receipt into JDE to facilitate payment through A/P - Maintain accurate log of non-inventory receipts - Be point person for any sale of raw materials and/or scrap items, including the actual loading of said items and the corresponding paperwork and scanning to insure prompt invoicing to the customers - Load outgoing non-inventoried items after processing the proper paperwork - Ability to generate receiving reports as required - Actively participate in year-end physical inventories as directed by supervision - Communicate all necessary information to the Inventory Control Manager as required - Other duties as required by supervision EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Good organizational skills - Ability to operate forklift equipment - Desired: Product and material knowledge, mechanical knowledge; knowledge of power and hand tools. - High School diploma or GED equivalent PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
