Responsibilities

  • Support Data Platform Growth - Contribute to building and maintaining data platforms that enable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tooling - Apply AI-driven capabilities to support data engineering tasks and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Essential criteria:
  • Data Analysis & Engineering Capability - Proven experience analysing, designing, and delivering scalable data models and pipelines on large datasets, translating business problems into actionable insights.
  • SQL & Python Skills - SQL expertise for large-scale data transformation, optimisation, and building modular, testable pipelines using DBT or equivalent, Python for building data pipelines, and automating data workflows
  • Engineering Best Practices - Hands-on experience applying CI/CD, automated testing, and version-controlled development in production environments.
  • Cloud-Based ETL & Data Warehousing - Proven experience building and operating cloud-based ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions, including orchestration and monitoring (preferably in GCP or AWS).
  • Data Modelling & Data Flow Understanding - Strong experience in dimensional modelling and designing end-to-end data flows across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
  • Incident Support & Operational Awareness - Proven ability to debug and resolve production data issues, improving data reliability and platform performance.
  • Academic & Professional Background - Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with demonstrable experience delivering production-scale data systems.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication - Ability to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders, and clearly communicate ideas and technical solutions within a team environment
  • Finance/Compliance Domain Experience - Experience working with finance data and/or systems which manage data for compliance purposes
  • Additional / Bonus Skills - Experience with lakehouse architectures, BDD/automation practices, or regulated data environments.
