This position may supervise a combination of clinical and non-clinical staff. Note: This position requires an RN license. Estimated Hiring Range: $111,690.00 - $136,510.00 Bonus Target: Bonus - SIP Target, 5% Annual Current CareOregon Employees: Please use the internal Workday site to submit an application for this job. --------------------------------------------------------------- Essential Responsibilities Operations Lead the daily work of the hospice team and act as a resource for staff as a clinical expert. Ensure daily activities are being assigned, monitored, scheduled, and coordinated across the team. Ensure the highest quality of care is provided and is in compliance with established policies and procedures and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements by reviewing documentation, making visits with staff, reviewing care plans, participating in interdisciplinary care team (IDT) meetings, and reviewing patient satisfaction surveys. Ensure compliance with government standards and regulations for licensure, accreditation, and Medicare certification. Actively participate in accreditation surveys. Provide direction for staff and act as a liaison between field and office staff. Identify barriers to documentation and work with leadership, IS and/or vendors to resolve. Lead, facilitate, and participate in meetings or huddles, prepare agendas and distribute meeting minutes. Review meeting information with staff who are unable to attend. Monitor and approve overtime, non-formulary expenses and medical costs to ensure adherence to budget. Ensure the maintenance of clinical records by routinely auditing to assure accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and standards including HIPAA. Communicate with marketing personnel regarding patient issues that arise that may affect referral source relationships. Perform field visits regularly to ensure staff quality care is provided and policies and procedures are followed. Hold staff accountable for correcting issues identified. Consult with Hospice Medical Director on medical issues and administrative responsibilities including QAPI and compliance. Ensure bereavement services reflect the needs of the patient and family and are provided according to regulatory requirements. Provide cross-training on specific job responsibilities. Represent Hospice at interdepartmental meetings and projects. Provide periodic coverage for staff assignments as appropriate in order to stay current with work processes or tasks as needed to support the team when absences require management assistance. Participate in Ethics and Safety Committee as requested. Assume role as backup Hospice Administrator when needed. Participate in Administration on-call rotations. Registered nurse (only): Responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring delivery of hospice aide services. Planning Participate in program management, including budgeting, strategic planning, utilization, and quality assessment/improvement (QAPI) activities. Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures. Identify areas for program and process improvement and make recommendations to hospice management. Analyze staffing needs and provide recommendations to Hospice Manager for decision making. Create and maintain staff schedule, reviews, and approve time off requests ensuring adequate staffing at all times. Manage after hours, weekend, holiday and back up schedules. Clinical Leadership and Care Perform hospice clinical nursing duties as needed to assist the field staff in times of high patient need including patient/family visits. Supervise staff in performance of their duties including, but not limited to, admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of services to patients. Investigate, resolve, and document patient/family/vendor concerns/complaints. Conduct supervisory visits and monitor completion of competencies and mandatory trainings to ensure regulatory requirements are met and quality care is maintained.
