Responsibilities
- Lead activities related to the receiving, storing, shipping of materials or finished goods, and material movement.

- Utilize inventory control measures such as cycle counting to ensure inventory accuracy between the physical stockroom/warehouse and the MRP system.
- Ensure stockroom materials are picked, prepared, and delivered to manufacturing to meet production schedules with a high level of quality and accuracy.
- Establish, modify, and communicate standardized work, policies, and procedures, and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Own department performance metrics, including data collection, analysis of actual performance versus targets, and development or refinement of KPIs.
- Report on metrics related to activities such as cycle counting and on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
- Develop and execute action plans based on metrics analysis to drive performance improvement and process effectiveness.
- Identify staffing needs and partner with HR to recruit, interview, and hire candidates.
- Develop training plans and provide ongoing employee feedback to support development of receiving, stockroom, and shipping material handlers.
- Support internal and external process audits in the incoming, stockroom, and shipping departments.
- Collaborate with incoming inspection and program teams to ensure timely processing of materials to support business revenue goals.
- Ability to travel up to 10% annually in support of program and business development effort.
- Compensation Range: $89,000 - $111,200
Requirements
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Associate degree with 7+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with stockroom management, including cycle counting.
- Experience with safety management in a material handling or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work within standardized inventory procedures while also supporting process improvements.
- Experience managing a department in a metrics-driven environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a team environment, multitask, and support concurrent priorities for internal and external customers.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift (pending internal training and certification).
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance, if required.
- Supply chain experience in the defense industry with exposure to the defense acquisition process.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams and grow an organization from both a staffing and process perspective.
- Experience with USG, DoD, or FAA contracts.
- Experience participating in internal or external audits.
- Cross-functional experience working with Quality, Safety, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Program Management teams.
- Continuous Improvement certification (Black Belt or Green Belt preferred).
- Experience interacting with programs and reporting to business leadership.

Job Description: Saab, Inc. has a career opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented Materials Supervisor to join the Supply Chain team in Cranston, RI. As a Materials Supervisor, you will be a member of the Supply Chain Management team and will have a direct impact on performance in the receiving, stockroom, and shipping departments, with a team of material handlers as direct reports. Once our Bristol, RI facility is open for occupancy, the individual in this role will be expected to travel between the two facilities at least once per week.
