We are proudly part of Japan Post - www.tollgroup.com OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth of the business through the acquisition of new customers and the development of existing accounts within assigned territories and market segments. The role is accountable for achieving sales targets, identifying new business opportunities and building strong customer relationships. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Business Development & Sales Growth Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories, industries, and target market segments. (a Hunter ) Achieve assigned sales targets, KPIs, revenue and gross profit objectives. Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals and customer engagement activities. Grow existing customer accounts through cross-selling and upselling of Toll products and services. Conduct sales presentations, customer visits, business reviews and solution discussions to secure new business opportunities. Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to develop customer-specific solutions and proposals. Monitor market trends and competitive actions, share insights with product and management teams. Performs for other duties including sales presentations, developing deliverables, coordinating implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials. 2. Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers. Develop a thorough understanding of customer businesses, trade lanes, commodities, service requirements and commercial expectations. Ensure timely follow-up and effective responses to customer inquiries, sales leads and business opportunities. Support customer retention and account growth initiatives through regular engagement and business reviews. 3. Sales Reporting, CRM & Performance Management Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity records within Salesforce CRM. Provide timely and accurate pipeline updates, sales forecasts, and activity reports. Track and report on sales performance metrics as required by management. Ensure all customer and sales information is maintained in accordance with company policies and standards. Comply with all Toll policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by management. KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES Year-over-year growth in volume, Gross Profit and revenue, in line with company metrics. Achievement of agreed service KPIs and customer satisfaction. Accuracy and timeliness of CRM data and business reporting. Alignment and execution of account development processes. Successful implementation and governance of SOPs. Retention and expansion of key customers. SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience : Minimum 3 years of sales/business development experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain solutions. Language : Fluent in English (written and verbal) is mandatory for direct reporting and collaboration with National Sales Manager. Technical : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to interpret data into actionable business insights. (Preferably with experiences and sound knowledge in Contract Logistics environment) Excellent communication and presentation skills. Business : Proven record in managing complex customer relationships and driving account growth. Strong relationship-building capabilities. Human Relations : Ambitious thinker with a results-oriented mindset. Resilient, adaptable, and culturally aware. Self-motivated, with ability to work independently.
