Responsibilities

  • As an Operations Assistant, you'll play an important role in ensuring voyages are executed smoothly after a shipping contract has been concluded.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting brokers and the operations team in managing shipping voyages and contractual obligations.
  • Assisting with post-fixture operations, including voyage monitoring, document control and port coordination.
  • Coordinating with shipowners, charterers, port agents, terminals and surveyors to ensure efficient cargo operations.

  • Monitoring vessel schedules, voyage progress, cargo operations and performance updates.
  • Developing an understanding of different cargo types, vessel specifications and international shipping regulations.
  • Working closely with both internal teams and global business partners to ensure every voyage is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • An understanding that the shipping industry operates globally around the clock, with the flexibility to respond to urgent operational matters outside normal office hours when required.
  • No prior shipping experience is required, on-the-job training will be provided.
  • A Diploma/ Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline is advantageous, though not essential.
