About the role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are consistently met, for one of our larger sites for the windows and doors business unit. This role provides direct oversight to production team members, supports employee development, and drives accountability across the floor. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. This position is 6am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with OT on Saturdays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture
- Supervise and support hourly production team members during assigned shift
- Support onboarding and training of new hires and cross-training of existing team members
- Monitor production performance and adjust staffing or workflow to meet targets
- Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action when needed
- Track and report production metrics, downtime, and staffing needs
- Maintain accurate records for timekeeping
- Address and problem solve for quality issues
- Reinforce standard work and operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, safety, and efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment aligned with 5S standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-3 years of progressively responsible supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Previous experience in a (distribution or production) operation with demonstrated ability to acquire and apply continuous improvement, lean and manufacturing system principles a plus
- Proficient in 5S principles
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of a work management system
