About the role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support our Human Resources team with a focus on Workers' Compensation, Payroll, Leave of Absences, and ACA Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollment, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts..
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives related to compensation and benefits.
- Manage workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting and communication with insurance providers.
- Coordinate return-to-work programs and follow up on claim statuses.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal workers' compensation regulations.
- Administer leave requests, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and personal leave.
- Track and maintain leave records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
- 2+ years of HR experience with a focus on workers' compensation, payroll, leave management, and ACA compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel regularly between centers
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study.
- SHRM-CP or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, benefits programs, and HR regulations
- Certifications in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional)
