Responsibilities

  • Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Determine root cause and develop resolution plans for Energy System, Production Center issues and manage the implementation of both short-term containment and long-term corrective actions .
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including : the Energy System product engineering team in Novi , mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers and production engineering .
  • Work closely with the Energy System product engineering team to gain knowledge of the Energy System design and function.
  • Capture lessons learned and provide feedback for continuous improvement pertaining to the vehicle Energy System .
  • Support new product launches, pr e-production builds, and validation activities, including troubleshooting and providing technical guidance to technicians and test engineers.
  • Location & Travel Expectations :
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering , Thermal Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. (Master's preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience preferably in the automotive industry.
  • K nowledge of high voltage battery systems, power electronics, thermal systems, mechanical, electrical and vehicle systems.
  • Experience with vehicle control systems and diagnostics and communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and hardware interfaces a plus.
  • Proficiency with vehicle data collection tools and diagnostics
  • Competence in thermal analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Fluent, COMSOL) and CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) a plus .
  • Familiarity with battery electric vehicle high voltage and low voltage mechanizations.
  • Ability to read, interpret and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative envi
