Online Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. This current opening has a hire date for Fall 2026. Online Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating an online learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of the provided single version course. Courses are taught completely online in primarily 8-week format. The IvyOnline School of Information Technology requires candidate to be credentialed to teach one or more of the following courses. We are seeking online adjunct faculty to serve in one or more of the topical areas listed below: - SDEV155 Content Management Systems: CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal, or similar), web asset management, site-building - SDEV160 Programming With Data: SQL/NoSQL databases, REST APIs, JSON/XML/CSV, ETL fundamentals - SDEV243 Software Resilience and Reliability: unit testing, exception handling, refactoring, configuration/package management - SDEV245 Security and Secure Coding: secure coding practices, vulnerability awareness, security testing - SDEV255 Web Application Development: full-stack development, client and server-side scripting, REST APIs, HTML/JavaScript for dynamic data-driven interfaces - SDEV265 Systems/Software Analysis and Projects: SDLC methodology, requirements analysis, project-based software design - Industry certification in any one of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, or Python In compliance with the College's Out of State Workers Policy, only candidates who will reside in and work from the states of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio will be considered for this position. Major Responsibilities: Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. IvyOnline's minimum expectations for Online Adjunct Faculty are found in the Academic Support and Operations Manual, Policy 7.5.2. Online Adjunct Faculty are also encouraged to review and implement best practices from the online teaching best practices list. Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College. Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning. Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations. Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
