The Revenue Recognition Accountant will work closely across multiple teams within the Company to address revenue accounting matters in the application of U.S. GAAP, and maintenance of revenue accounting policies. This role will own the end-to-end revenue accounting for Firstup and conduct research on complex revenue arrangements. In addition, this role will work closely with our financial reporting and GL accounting teams in support of the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, and other stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis. Firstup expects the base salary for this role to be between $70,000-$95,000. The starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Why Firstup? Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of direct experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, and/or 3-5 years of progressive general accounting experience with a strong understanding of revenue principles.
- Proven experience with ASC 606 system implementations (e.g., NetSuite ARM module or similar), and/or Big 4 audit experience with a CPA license.
- Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP Accounting).
- Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the "story" and form recommendations.
- Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture."
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and Word / Google Docs related skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Experience and interest to build out systems and processes in a rapidly growing business.
