Machinist

Responsibilities

• Able to operate lathe machine/ drilling machine & milling machine
• Perform machining works as per drawings and specs
• Identify and provide machining process improvement
• Performs minor programming or program editing at machine controls if needed
• Independently selects the correct tooling to do the job.
• Gathers required tooling and fixture or places order if necessary
• Sets-up machine as required using prescribed manufacturing instruction sheet and program
• Calculates speeds, feeds and depths of cuts for machining
• Uses material handling equipment to move parts and components to and from work area
• Ensure all production records/reports are updated
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Update/highlight to Production Supervisor on job status and any non-conformance raised
• To adhere and comply with the ISO requirements and Safety Regulations
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
• All other ad-hoc tasks assigned

Requirements

• Able to read engineering drawings
• NITEC in Precision Engineering / Diploma in mechanical engineering with min 5 years working experience in precision machining environment
• Proficient with application of measuring instruments
• Able to commit to do OT when required
