Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Houston, TX. This facility is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is an unique opportunity to be a part of the team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the organization, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations. The Manager - Human Resources role for Lilly Houston is responsible for helping implement initiatives that directly impact employees, leaders and the organizational culture of the site. Many of these will be from the ground up. This role is crucial in achieving both short-term and long-term objectives for the site and the broader Manufacturing and Quality organization. Key responsibilities include helping to ensure the organization has the right capabilities, leadership, talent, culture, and engagement. You will collaborate across the site and the Manufacturing and Quality organization to drive business results while working closely with peers and subject matter experts in Human Resources to ensure that the policies, programs and plans effectively meet the business's needs. The Manager - Human Resources is expected to understand the business, bring HR competence, lead within the Lilly HR community, and balance the interests of leadership, employees and the company. This role will help the Lilly Houston site deliver the mission and make an impact in the lives of patients and will have direct exposure to the site leadership team in driving HR strategies. What you'll do in the role: Partner with the site HR Senior Director to design and execute the people strategy and HR initiatives. Provide HR Strategic Business Partner support and serve as a resource for leadership and employees. Own HR data analysis and reporting on key metrics for the site. Deeply understand the HR data about the site, analyze and report on information, prepare and present to the site leadership team. Help lead HR processes including talent management and succession planning, Pulse and Leadership Compass, recruiting, compensation, and the technical ladder promotion process. This includes helping communicate the agenda across the organization, measuring progress and outcomes, and collaborating with HR COE colleagues supporting these processes. Support global staffing initiatives including short- and long-term assignments, permanent international transfers, and collaborative training initiatives with other sites inside and outside the United States. Design and deliver effective employee onboarding and new employee orientation programs. Shape culture and leadership development strategies that drive improved engagement and performance of the employees and leaders at the site. Contribute to global or network M&Q HR projects and processes aligned with the HR strategy, provide input to design and implementation plans, and share best practices across the network, M&Q and HR organizations. Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement in HR and site processes, systems and tools. Support change management efforts across the site, helping leaders communicate effectively, supporting employees through periods of growth and transition, and keeping the organization grounded as the site scales. Maintain a visible presence in the organization, building relationships with employees, and engaging directly where and when they work to understand the pulse of the organization.
