Staff Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Network Engineer (10+ Years Experience) to join our infrastructure team. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional who functions as both a hands-on technical expert and a strategic mentor. You will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of complex network designs, translating architectural blueprints into resilient, high-performance production environments. The ideal candidate possesses an unwavering drive for operational excellence and a meticulous eye for detail. You will bridge the gap between high-level architecture and physical/virtual deployment, ensuring our global footprint-spanning multiple public clouds and private data centers-is secure, scalable, and highly observable.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid & Multi-Cloud Implementation
• VPC & Connectivity: Design and deploy sophisticated Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networks across AWS, GCP, and OCI , ensuring seamless integration via Direct Connect and Interconnect services.
• Private Cloud Mastery: Manage and scale software-defined networking within VMware Private Cloud and OpenStack environments.
• Architecture Realization: Take ownership of complex network designs provided by the Architecture team, transforming theoretical requirements into functional, robust infrastructure.
• Advanced Security & Traffic Management
• L4-L7 Firewall Management: Oversee the configuration and maintenance of advanced firewalls, focusing on deep packet inspection, application-level security, and complex policy enforcement.
• Virtual Load Balancing: Implement and optimize virtual Load Balancers (LB) to ensure high availability and efficient traffic distribution across global services.
• Core Switching: Provide expert-level management of L3 switches , including VLAN tagging, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and hardware optimization.
• Systems & Observability
• Linux Integration: Leverage a deep Linux background to manage network services, automate tasks, and troubleshoot at the OS level.
• Full-Stack Monitoring: Establish comprehensive Observability and Monitoring frameworks to track latency, throughput, and error rates, ensuring proactive issue resolution before business impact.
• Non-technical
• Technical Mentorship: Guide and mentor mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Capacity Planning: Manage resource allocation and team capacity to meet aggressive project timelines and business objectives.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide expert guidance on network feasibility and security posture.

Requirements

• Paper qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years in Network Engineering/ Systems Engineering with a proven track record in enterprise-scale environments.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AWS Direct Connect, GCP Cloud Interconnect, and OCI FastConnect
• Technical Stack: Expert knowledge of L4+ Firewalls, L3 Switching, and Linux-based networking tools for automations.
• Precision: Exceptional analytical prowess with a "measure twice, cut once" approach
