Responsibilities

  • Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%):
  • Assess and manage patients referred for occupational therapy independently and implement appropriate treatment plans, applying specialised occupational therapy knowledge and skills.

  • Assist in reviewing and updating clinical protocols and SOPs based on available most-updated evidence-based research.
  • Participate in Clinical Education. Assist in the development and co-ordination of clinical education programmes for occupational therapy students attached to the workgroup
  • Assist in the initiation of clinical research projects related to the workgroup.
  • Service
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly performance reports for the workgroup.
  • Assist in the monitoring of key performance indicators of the workgroup (clinical / service quality, revenue and productivity).
  • Prepare and regularly update the inventory for therapy equipment for the workgroup.
  • Assist in budgeting of therapeutic equipment and consumables and assist in the preparation of yearly capex and minor assets and operating budget documents for the workgroup.
  • Assist in managing complaints, preventing adverse events and promoting workplace safety.
  • Assist in developing, promoting and marketing new clinical services.
  • Staff Development
  • Assist in the induction of new occupational therapists deployed to the workgroup. Assist in updating of induction checklist/files relevant to the workgroup.
  • Assist in the identification of training needs, improve wellness and develop staff in the workgroup.
  • Contribute to departmental inservice training programmes.
  • Others
  • Actively update occupational therapy knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to hospital educational talks and external talks / workshops / forums / seminars.
  • Network strategically with other healthcare practitioners to improve teamwork, efficiency and patient care.
  • Assist in the management of projects assigned to the workgroup.

Requirements

  • Full AHPC registration
  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
  • Min. 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Service oriented and customer focused
  • Result oriented
  • Team worker
  • Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Powerpoint)
