- Knowledge, Experience and Required Certifications:
- Possession of a valid Red Seal trade certificate in electrical, millwright, or a
- related field, or actively working towards certification.
- A minimum of five years of hands-on or supervisory experience in the
- maintenance field is required.
- Power Engineering certification or any maintenance-related certification
- (Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) /Certified Maintenance and
- Reliability Professional) is considered an asset.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an Engineering Technology
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls is a plus.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of thermal power plants,
- especially Boiler and Steam Turbine systems, with previous experience in
- large-scale industrial plant environments being a strong asset.
- Possessing strong leadership and supervisory skills, managing teams in
- dynamic environments, comfortable with both union and non-union labor
- relations, and experienced in working with trades.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) is
- required, along with experience in building and maintaining a computerized
- preventative maintenance management system.
- Proficiency in materials, inventory, and budget management, along with
- project cost estimating and cost/benefit analysis.
- This role requires a commitment to customer service and workplace

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for (but not limited to): Directs the development of maintenance strategies consistent with business requirements, objectives, and established financial goals. Leads a team of skilled mechanical, electrical, instrument and controls, and maintenance professionals providing 24-hour services for the plant. Develops overall maintenance schedules to maintain equipment availability and coordinate planned outages. Continually searches out and develops new technical improvements and business strategies for maintenance and reliability excellence. Represents a key stakeholder in overseeing plant warehousing and inventory management including spare parts and tools inventories. Manages the successful implementation utilization of the CMMS system as well as the Asset Management program. Works closely with management on site and in conjunction with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety departments, and senior staff to coordinate daily activities and long term maintenance planning.
