Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day site supervision as the Site Supervision Engineer (Electrical Engineer) for construction and erection of the transmission line and substation works.
- Supervise electrical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and ITPs (including but not limited to HV equipment, earthing/grounding, cable works, terminations, and protection & control interfaces, as applicable).

- Undertake site verification of works completed by the contractor, including dimensional checks, installation verification, and witnessing inspections/tests at hold/witness points.
- Support quality management by promptly identifying non-conformances, raising NCRs/defect lists as required, and coordinating close-out with the contractor and project team.
- Support HSE compliance by ensuring safe work practices are followed on site, participating in toolbox talks and inspections, and escalating unsafe conditions/stop-work situations in line with project procedures.
- Assist with verification of contractor claims and variations with the procurement/commercial team by providing measurement sheets, progress evidence, and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to testing and commissioning readiness activities by confirming installation completeness, punch-listing, and supporting pre-commissioning checks and documentation compilation (as directed by the project team).
- Carry out other necessary site supervision and coordination duties required to meet project objectives.
- Key Performance Indicators
- Safety performance: All safety observations/close-outs completed within agreed timeframes.
- Construction progress monitoring: weekly progress updates issued on time (e.g., by end of each week) with accurate % complete vs plan and key constraints/escalations logged.
- Quality/ITP compliance: inspection and test plan (ITP) hold/witness points attended as required; NCRs raised within 24-48 hours of identification and closed out within agreed timeframes.
- Site verification accuracy: field measurements/checks completed to plan; verification records are complete, signed, and traceable (e.g., daily reports, inspection checklists, photos).
- Daily site records: daily site diary/report submitted on time with labour/plant, work fronts, weather, issues/risks, and HSE/quality notes (target: 100% compliance).
- Coordination/support to engineers: requests from transmission line/substation/civil engineers actioned within agreed SLAs; technical queries and site issues escalated promptly with recommended options.
- Contractor management: non-conformances, delays, and unsafe practices identified early and communicated formally; reduction in repeat issues month-on-month.
- Claims/variation support: measurement sheets and supporting evidence provided to procurement/commercial team by agreed cut-off dates; disputed quantities/variations resolved with clear substantiation.
- Variation control: potential variations identified and notified early (e.g., within 2 working days of becoming aware) with scope, cause, and preliminary cost/time impact.
- Stakeholder communication: site coordination meetings attended; actions captured and closed within due dates (target: >90% on-time close-out).
- Documentation quality: all submitted reports/records meet project document control requirements (correct templates, revision control, minimal rework/returns).
- Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and has a minimum of 3 years of work experience in construction supervision for at least one transmission & substation project and/or distribution and household connection projects [as applicable]
- Proven ability to work in multicultural teams and, where applicable, coordinate with international distribution specialists and stakeholders.
- Competent in interpreting drawings and using common engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; power system tools/GIS advantageous).
- Strong reporting, communication and mentoring skills; commitment to safety and field-based work.
