About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to provide Level 2 operational support for the network security infrastructure. This role is responsible for day-to-day cybersecurity operations, including incident handling, firewall flow management, proxy management, remote access support, IP/VPN support, and vulnerability remediation. The successful candidate will also support LANs, WANs, and VPNs, while ensuring the optimal functionality and efficiency of routers, firewalls, IPS, proxies, and load balancers. 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Support Provide Level 2 production support for Network and Security infrastructure. Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and change management tickets within defined SLAs. Escalate and coordinate complex issues with Level 3/development teams and external vendors. Provide technical guidance and supervision to Level 1 security support teams. Security Operations Manage Firewall flow management, proxy configurations, and remote access solutions. Support IPsec/VPN connectivity and troubleshoot related access issues. Conduct vulnerability remediation and implement security patches. Perform hardening of network security infrastructure in line with industry best practices. Infrastructure Management Administer and maintain routers, firewalls, LANs, WANs, and VPNs. Manage and optimise network devices including Cisco ACI/Nexus/Catalyst, Arista switches, and F5 load balancers (LTM/ASM/APM). Manage DNS/DHCP services (Infoblox) and proxy infrastructure (Skyhigh). Maintain network security IT assets and CMDB records, ensuring accurate inventory of all related hardware and software. Governance & Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation of Security SOPs, procedures, and technical guides. Contribute to Knowledge Management by creating and updating resolution articles. Support network security project implementations from planning through to execution. 3. LEGAL & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including the Singapore Compliance Manual and Financial Security requirements. Support the prevention of Financial Crime and Fraud, including reporting obligations to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer/Compliance Officer. Complete all mandatory training as required to maintain competence in the role. 4. WORKING CONDITIONS Shift Work: Rotating shifts are required, primarily to cover European business hours. On-Call Support: Expected to participate in a rotational on-call roster, covering both weekdays and weekends. 5. REQUIREMENTS Preferred Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience managing IT systems environments, with at least 2 years in a financial institute (Financial institute experience is essential for this role to ensure immediate familiarity with MAS regulatory compliance, data sovereignty requirements, and the stringent security frameworks unique to banking environments); OR Minimum 3 years of work experience as a dedicated Cybersecurity Support Engineer. Technical Expertise (Hands-on experience required): Network Infrastructure: Cisco ACI, Nexus, Catalyst, DNAC, ISE, iOS, NXOS; Arista Switches, EOS. Security Appliances: Fortinet (Firewall, IPS), Checkpoint (Firewall, MDS), Trendmicro (IPS/IDS). Application Delivery / Load Balancing: F5 LTM, ASM, APM, TMOS. Network Services: Infoblox (DNS, DHCP), Skyhigh (Proxy), Ivanti (Remote Access). Automation & Scripting: Python, Bash, and Ansible. Diagnostic Tools: Wireshark/Tshark, Netflow. Soft Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and logical problem-solving skills. Strong customer service orientation and proven ability to work effectively in a team. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise multiple tasks, and commit to resolving issues efficiently. 6. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS Relevant tertiary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP Security, NSE, PCNSE, F5-CA) are highly advantageous.
