If you enjoy working at the intersection of data, governance, and technology while shaping scalable data foundations, this role is for you! YOUR ROLE AT SIXT You own Data Security & Access Governance, designing and maintaining scalable row-level security models and permission frameworks across BI tools (e.g. QuickSight) and the data warehouse. You drive Data Catalogue excellence by onboarding business domains into DataHub, defining and enforcing standards for metadata, KPI definitions, and documentation quality. You establish and manage Data Ownership structures, defining roles (stewards, business and technical owners) and ensuring accountability for data quality and semantic correctness. You ensure Data Quality by implementing domain ownership of tests, designing monitoring and alerting processes, and proactively resolving data issues before they impact decisions. You support platform and infrastructure initiatives, contributing to BI platform modernization and enabling scalable governance practices across the ecosystem. You enable AI-driven governance and data literacy, supporting AI integration (e.g. LLM use cases), structuring data for advanced workflows, and delivering training and best practices for responsible data usage. YOUR SKILLS MATTER You bring a degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Engineering, or similar, with 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, BI Engineering, or related roles in data-driven environments. You have hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g. QuickSight, Looker) and building analytical dashboards or self-service reporting solutions. You have strong data modelling knowledge and experience working with data warehouse environments (e.g. Athena, Redshift, Snowflake) and transformation frameworks like dbt. You understand core Data Governance principles, including metadata management, data cataloguing, lineage, data classification (PII), row-level security, and data quality frameworks, with exposure to tools like DataHub or Collibra. You are proficient in SQL and Python, using them to automate governance workflows, implement data quality checks, and support data pipelines and access control logic. You excel in communication and stakeholder management, translating complex technical concepts into business-friendly language, working cross-functionally, and bringing strong English skills (German is a plus).
