POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise all Patient Access and Patient Registration functions. Incumbent must ensure that patient ED, Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Pulmonary, Cardiology, radiology and lab registrations, admissions, pre-registration and discharge processes run timely and efficiently. Supervisor will oversee staff assignments to ensure adequate coverage for all areas. Supervisor will oversee and perform quality assurance and downtime work as assigned. Obligation to train new hires and existing staff on existing and new processes and protocols. Must ensure smooth workload transition from day to night shift personnel. Position: Patient Access Supervisor Department: Patient Access Schedule: 40 hours, 2nd shift (3-11pm) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: Collaborates responsibility with Patient Access Manager and Lead Patient Access Coordinators. Cross-functionality with Financial Coordinators, Bed Management Coordinators, and hospital staff. Oversees all scheduling, training, workflow, staff assignments, and coverage for all evening and weekend Patient Registration staff members. Has the authority to carry out the operational and management functions of the Patient Registration department as directed by the Director of Patient Registration. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team. Identifies operational issues and challenges, raises them to Manager, and works with Manager to resolve. Assists Director with staff evaluations by providing input on individuals. Supports execution of performance improvement initiatives within the department or with other hospital departments. Assists in resolving patient concerns. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: High school diploma required, Associate's degree is preferred.
