About the role

1. Carry out the daily therapy routines of the Therapy Department, by administering the prescribed physiotherapy exercises and occupation-focused therapeutic interventions to the Residents and the Day Activity Centre (DAC) clients, specific to the requirements of the Beneficiaries. 2. Train the Residents and the DAC Clients in Basic Activities of Daily Living (BADL) skills such as transfers, bed mobility, functional mobility (e.g. ambulation or wheelchair mobility), and toileting; as well as, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) skills such as hot beverage preparation, laundry care, safe community mobility, and using simple assistive household appliances or aids. 3. Facilitate group therapy interventions for both the Residents and the DAC Clients; and engage the Beneficiaries in crafts, physiotherapy exercises, urban farming, hydrotherapy, and other social recreational activities such as karaoke and movie screening. 4. Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist in the management of wheelchair-related issues that may require simple in-house repair works and cleaning of wheelchairs. As for the more complex wheelchair repairs, the external Vendor/s may be contacted to render the repairs and servicing. 5. Attend in-service training that the Physiotherapist and the Occupational Therapist conduct, to improve on his/her knowledge and skills in providing essential residential care, day activity service delivery, and for personal development (e.g. Effective Communication, Teamworking, Conflict Management & Resilience Building) 6. Attend the First Aid training; and then subsequent re-certification before the certification period expires. 7. Responsible for disinfecting and sanitizing all therapeutic resources and equipment after use. 8. Will be trained to carry out infection control measures that includes respirator fitting, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), proper handwashing techniques, disposal of used PPEs, as well as, biohazard & non-biohazard waste. 9. Will be introduced to the fire safety protocols of the Home and be trained to handle simulated fire situations (e.g. Fire drills). 10. Responsible for proper housekeeping of the Therapy (1) & (2) Gyms, ensuring that the facilities are ready for use the following working day. 11. Work closely with the Physiotherapist and the Occupational Therapist to execute any other duties, as required by the Home and the Day Activity Centre (DAC). Administration 1. Update and document in the Care Management System (CMS) accordingly, after taking vital signs of the DAC Clients, administering the prescribed therapeutic interventions for both the Residents and the DAC Clients, as well as, to set up the CMS Schedulers by working closely with the Physiotherapist and the Occupational Therapist. 2. Responsible for monitoring the on-site repairs of the wheelchairs and other therapy equipment by the vendors/contractors. In the absence of the therapists, he/she may sign on the tax invoice after the repair is completed. Qualification - WSQ Higher/Certificate in Therapy Support - Diploma/degrees in Physiotherapy/ Occupational therapy might be an advantage - Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills. - Service-oriented, patient and caring towards beneficiary/person with disability - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications or IT applications
