Supportability Engineer (Electronics / Reliability / RAMT)

Responsibilities

• Help shape the reliability of next-generation radar systems
• At Leonardo , we're looking for an Electronics Engineer with a passion for reliability, supportability and solving complex engineering challenges.
• This is not a traditional design role - it's an opportunity to influence how advanced electronic systems are designed, maintained and sustained throughout their life.
• Working on cutting-edge radar programmes in Edinburgh, you'll help ensure our systems are robust, supportable and mission-ready from concept through to in-service support and beyond.
• What you will do as a Supportability Engineer (Electronics)
• Partner with multidisciplinary project teams to shape supportable next-generation radar systems
• Perform reliability modelling and electronic failure analysis at equipment and component level
• Influence hardware design through RAMT assessments, maintainability studies and supportability trade-offs
• Develop and maintain FMEA/FMECA , fault analysis and reliability predictions
• Contribute to diagnostics, testability strategies and through-life support solutions
• Help solve real-world engineering challenges, improving product resilience from concept to disposal

Requirements

• We'd love to hear from you if you have experience in some of the following:
• Background in electronics, hardware or systems engineering
• Ability to interpret schematics, circuit designs and component-level behaviour
• Experience in reliability, supportability, RAMT, safety, design assurance or related disciplines
• Exposure to FMEA/FMECA, fault analysis or root cause investigations
• Knowledge of defence, aerospace, complex electronics or safety-critical systems (helpful but not essential)
• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics or similar - or equivalent industry experience
• This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
