About the role
Lead end to end packaging development and validation for the Electrical Materials (EM) portfolio across NPI milestones under formal project management and IATF 16949. Responsibilities Include: Comply with and foster Momentive and site EHS policies; embed safety, hygiene/cleanliness, and applicable UN dangerous goods requirements into packaging design and validation. Identify new packaging requests from the product design phase to capture customer/team needs, scope, product intro, transport routes, and application scenarios. Conduct full product lifecycle package validation, particularly for extreme storage and transportation conditions, long-term performance, and packaging reliability Defining validation methodology from scratch, building a comprehensive framework across multiple scenarios Define packaging format (Primary/Secondary/Shipping Unit) and key attributes (size, volume, shape, material, color, printing, UN certification if DG). Issue the PDS and draft the packaging test plan with clear toll gates aligned to NPI milestones. Specify appearance, dimensions, weight, drop, seal/air tightness, handling, anti rust, stretch, BCT/top load, etc., per standards or customer requirements. Establish site packaging operations and pallet patterns; release PDS/work instructions to manufacturing. Run lab/vendor equipment tests; coordinate storage tests under defined conditions and shipping tests on customer routes; perform line trials; issue validation summaries and go/no go. Create and maintain packaging specifications and technical drawings for new/existing products; define KPIs/quality/tolerances as the basis for release. Partner with Procurement/suppliers to select and qualify components (including dual sources); verify COAs and incoming quality per GB 2828.1; manage nonconformances and third party testing. Lead test conclusion meetings; share analyses; distribute PDS/specs/drawings and storage/transport requirements; track follow ups. Drive returnable/recyclable/bio based solutions under cleanliness requirements; standardize/harmonize to reduce damage and cost; lead RCA/CAPA and best practice sharing across sites. - The following are required for the role
- Bachelor above in packaging engineering or chemical engineering with 8+ years' packaging experience (preferred EM products/application).
- Broad understanding of packaging equipment (design/function/control) and strong knowledge of packaging materials/components (drums, IBCs, pails, cartridges, tubes); able to read/interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proven cross functional leadership and influence in matrix teams; strong accountability.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear oral/written communication in English; strong problem solving/decision making/stress management.
- Lean 5S, Six-Sigma , Lean Six-Sigma, Design-for-Six-Sigma.
- Technical Engineering background, CAD, 3D Max skill would be preferred
