Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Maintain equipment and participate in preventative maintenance projects ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management. Act as a role model for Safety on the shift. Participate in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enter Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center database (GDC) Maintains good housekeeping in the shop and on the plant floor Work shift coverage with advanced repair skills on all production equipment. Responsible for documenting all assigned reports and maintenance work orders (MWO's) for work performed. Work with other maintenance, process and production personnel as necessary or directed in problem solving of equipment and production issues. General troubleshooting of all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and operation issues Works with production and maintenance to improve systems and equipment Maintains a working knowledge of all plant utilities systems Wear proper PPE, personal protective equipment. Other tasks as assigned by Management or Supervisor or Lead EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Associates degree in electrical/mechanical. Experience: In addition to the educational requirements, incumbents must have 3 - 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance field Minimum education and years of experience should not be used exclusive of other leveling factors described below. Other Skills and Abilities Knowledge of and skill in electrical systems including PLC's Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out Requirements Knowledge of and skill in domestic water systems including chillers Knowledge of and skill in fire protection Knowledge of and skill in pneumatic and hydraulic systems Knowledge of and skill in motors and drives Knowledge of and skill in air exhaust and supply systems Knowledge of and skill in resin handling systems Ability to operate a vehicle or powered industrial truck Must have a good mechanical aptitude. Ability to communicate serious or potential down time issues to managers Ability to supervise and direct the daily activities of the Shift Techs Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation Ability to work OT as necessary to support a 24/7 site Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, simple checklists, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and in small group situations. Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent. Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
