Responsibilities
- Greets patients and visitors to the department, performs check-in and notifies appropriate personnel of arrival.
- Provides excellent customer service and serves as a positive representative of EHS in all interactions.
- Receives incoming telephone calls, directs inquiries as appropriate and takes messages.
- Performs required insurance verification activity when appropriate. Obtains insurance information through department processes to ensure that proper authorization requirements will be fulfilled.
- Schedules appointments for therapy evaluations and visits based on established guidelines.
- Completes the registration process, explains applicable policies to patients and assists patients with paperwork.
- Maintains workload at the established productivity standard for assigned area.
- Interacts with patients regarding complaints for effective and immediate response and resolution. Refers to Office Manager, Team Leader, or Clinical Leader as appropriate
- Collects payments and charges from the patient at time of service.
- Maintains therapists' schedules, optimizing effective scheduling of appointments. Confirm appointments as directed.
- Interact with and communicate professionally with co-workers, management and patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a health care office setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
