About the role

This position is located in a State or Area Office in USDA/Rural Development (RD). The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Loan Specialist (Commercial), Community Program Staff. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12); or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience processing and servicing a full range of commercial and/or complex realty loans; servicing a loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association beyond consumer loans; or similar work which provided a knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of financing and credit of loan and/or grant programs; experience demonstrating use of judgment in providing financial management guidance to borrowers; ascertaining and analyzing borrower's financial capacity, and evaluating the general economic and financial conditions that affect the organization risk in granting, guaranteeing, or insuring the loan; and demonstrating leadership experience providing guidance and direction to a group of employees in processing and servicing loans and/or grant programs. Qualifications are based upon meeting specialized experience only. Education cannot be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the GS-1165 series set forth in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards by the closing date of the announcement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
