Grade 5 (Salaried) Position Description: The Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Technician II to support laboratory research activities on an immuno-oncology project with a strong emphasis on animal (mouse) studies. The technician will assist in conducting in vivo experiments, collecting and processing biological samples, and supporting general laboratory operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform and assist with mouse experiments as needed. Conduct routine animal procedures, including injections (IP, IV, SC, and ID), blood collection, tissue harvesting, in vivo imaging, monitoring animal health and welfare. Conduct and assist mouse tumor removal surgery and post-surgery care. Maintain accurate records of animal protocols and experimental data. Assist with cell culture, molecular biology, and immunology assays. Process tissues and samples for downstream analyses such as flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, histology, or microscopy. Ensure compliance with institutional animal care and biosafety regulations (IACUC protocols). Contribute to data analysis, figure preparation, and documentation of experimental results.
