Forward Deployed Architect

Responsibilities

• Open and close deals through subject-matter credibility, not traditional sales motion - your network and expertise are the pipeline.
• Work closely with Light's product and engineering teams to ensure that compliance requirements, local market standards, and customer needs specific to the Benelux region are built into the product roadmap.
• Build relationships with CFOs, VPs Finance, and Controllers at modern, multi-entity businesses across Benelux.
• Represent Light at industry events, peer CFO networks, and finance communities where your reputation already carries weight.
• Act as the market's voice back to Light - feeding customer insight into product, messaging, and expansion sequencing.
• We expect a high degree of proactiveness and ownership - the ideal candidate is able to navigate fluidly between Product, Commercial, and Partnerships.
• Your qualifications:
• You have spent 10+ years in finance - as a CFO, Head of Finance, Finance Director, or Controller - at scaling, international businesses. When you talk about multi-entity close, intercompany eliminations, or real-time reporting, you are speaking from experience, not a pitch deck.
• You have an exceptional network across the Benelux, DACH or Italy finance and CFO community. You can get a meeting because of who you are, not because of who you work for.
• You are a seller. You understand how to build commercial relationships, navigate procurement, and close. You are not a consultant looking for advisory work - you want to win deals.
• You are fluent in local language (Dutch, German, or Italian) and English. You operate equally well in both.
• You are energised by early-stage environments. You are comfortable being the only person in your market, building from zero, and making fast decisions without a playbook.
• You understand modern finance technology - not just legacy ERP, but the new generation of AI-native tools replacing it. You have a view on where the market is going.
• Bonus points:
• You have previously evaluated or implemented a financial platform or ERP at a scaling company - you know the buying process from the other side of the table.
• You have commercial or advisory experience alongside your operational background - consulting, interim CFO work, or board-level roles.
• Startup Experience: You've experience with a fast-growing startup/scale-up.
• You have already built a presence in the fintech or SaaS ecosystem in the respective region.

We are looking for someone who has spent their career in finance - a former CFO, Head of Finance, or senior finance operator - who also knows how to open doors, build trust, and close deals. You will be a Light representative in Benelux, DACH or Italy depending on your base and network. Your job is to walk into a room with a CFO or VP Finance and have a conversation they cannot have with any other vendor: one built on genuine, hard-won experience. You have done the month-ends, managed the multi-entity consolidations, sat in the ERP implementation reviews. You know exactly what they are facing - because you have faced it yourself.
