This National Guard position is for a INSPECTOR GENERAL (T32), Position Description Number D2276P01 and is part of the AL JFHQ AL Command Administrative Office, National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Use the National Guard position description to determine specialized experience, education, or training required for the work in the position in this series. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: -- Comprehensive knowledge of established management principles and operating procedures plus skill in applying fact-finding and investigative techniques to gather clear-cut factual evidence of waste and abuse, or compliance with regulations. -- Comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues/inspections or investigations/inquiries concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations (discipline, efficiency, morale, economy, training and readiness) carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations). -- Comprehensive knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources (people, money, or equipment) in the area studied. -- Comprehensive knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the activity. -- Comprehensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs, along with knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of programs throughout a military command, complex multi-mission JFHQ (St), or equivalent, and the relationships of administrative support activities (e.g., data processing accounting, budget) to such missions. -- Comprehensive knowledge in conducting inspections, inquires, investigations, analyzing findings, and making recommendations on substantive operating programs; (e.g., weapons testing or commodity management). -- Comprehensive knowledge and skill in preparing project papers and staffs reports, organizing and delivering briefings to managers for understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations. -- Comprehensive knowledge of managing an internal office budget.
