Job Overview Wargaming invites a 2D Character Art Lead to join the team of World of Warships projects . We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate professional who will be responsible for delivering high-quality character art in line with the artistic vision defined by Art Directors. In this role, you will act as a key expert in character art, influencing visual quality across the team, supporting artists with feedback, and ensuring consistency of delivered assets. While production processes and task management are handled by the team Supervisor, you will play a critical role in reviewing, guiding, and approving character art from both in-house and outsource teams. The 2D Art Team for World of Warships Franchise creates visual assets for in-game, marketing, and corporate use. This is a great opportunity to shape the quality bar of character art, collaborate with a strong team, and elevate the overall visual level of the product. Reports to 2D Art Manager What will you do? Create high-quality character art (portraits and concepts) in realistic and semi-realistic styles Own the overall quality of 2D character art across the product Review and approve character art from in-house and outsource teams Provide clear, actionable feedback to artists and influence team output Develop and maintain character art guidelines and quality standards Collaborate closely with Art Directors to ensure alignment with the artistic vision Work alongside the Supervisor, contributing through art expertise (quality evaluation and feedback) Support and mentor team members, helping to grow their artistic level What are we looking for? 3+ years of relevant experience, and at least 1 year of experience giving feedback Strong and relevant portfolio in character art with examples of work in realistic and semi‑realistic styles Excellent drawing skills in Adobe Photoshop Deep understanding of human anatomy and art fundamentals (values, proportions, composition, lighting, color, perspective) Proven ability to maintain and guide art style consistency Experience in providing constructive feedback and art review Genuine passion for character art and a strong desire to develop it further Strong communication and collaboration skills Intermediate English (B2) or higher What additional skills will help you stand out? Experience in leading or mentoring artists Experience working with outsource teams Knowledge of matte painting techniques Art Degree or strong traditional art background Experience with 3D tools (ZBrush, Maya, Blender) Practical knowledge and application of AI tools in art production Work mode During the probation period: onsite After the probation period: onsite or hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
