About the role
The Audit team uses a highly-collaborative approach to ensure the enterprise has effective controls over financial reporting, compliance, operations and information technology. This provides management with a valuable tool to achieve their respective tasks and goals. With assistance and guidance from audit management, audit associates perform audits of business processes. These audits independently conclude on the adequacy of controls and result in control improvements where necessary. Auditors also perform consulting projects for our internal clients. Our goal is for each audit associate to develop strong knowledge and relationships in order to become a trusted advisor and consultant to our internal clients. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Consult with internal clients to improve business processes and controls Perform the following internal audit services for Securian's Market Segments, supporting operations and subsidiaries Operational audits with emphasis on internal controls Compliance reviews Reviews of Financial Reporting Control certifications performed by business areas (similar to Sarbanes-Oxley for public companies) Consulting and other special projects
Requirements
- 2 years Auditing experience, preferably in public accounting
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, assertiveness and tact to interact with all levels of associates
- Ability to identify and balance each client's needs and expectations
- Ability to leverage technology and data, examine complex processes and recommend improvements
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel - comfortable working with data from different sources and performing analyses
- Audit experience using data analytics; Tableau preferred
- Holds (or pursuing) CPA or CIA designations
- Financial services industry experience

- The estimated base pay range for this job is:
- $59,400.00 - $109,200.00
- Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
