About the role

Job description We are looking for a professional to join the Data Ingestion team as Manager - Data Ingestion & Data Quality. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end bureau data ingestion processes, driving data quality improvements, reducing ingestion failures and rejections, and ensuring seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The individual will work closely with member institutions, Product, Technology, Operations, Quality, and Support teams to ensure timely and accurate ingestion of credit data across bureaus while driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational governance.

Responsibilities

  • Data Ingestion & Operations
  • Manage end-to-end ingestion of bureau data across Consumer, Commercial, and MFI bureaus.
  • Ensure processing and successful loading of member submissions within defined TATs and regulatory timelines.
  • Monitor ingestion pipelines, file movement, and processing status across various systems and environments.
  • Track and resolve file-level, segment-level, and record-level ingestion failures.
  • Coordinate with internal operational teams to ensure smooth execution of daily ingestion activities.
  • Data Quality Management
  • Analyze data quality issues, validation failures, and rejection trends across bureau submissions.
  • Drive data cleanup initiatives and improve overall bureau data hygiene.
  • Identify recurring data discrepancies and work with members for corrective actions.
  • Monitor duplicate records, invalid mappings, demographic inconsistencies, DPD anomalies, and other reporting discrepancies.
  • Review and enhance validation logic, rejection handling, and data acceptance controls.
  • Member & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Engage with member institutions to address ingestion failures, rejection reasons, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Act as a point of contact for member escalations related to data ingestion and data quality.
  • Conduct member connects, operational reviews, and data quality discussions.
  • Coordinate with Product, Technology, Infrastructure, Quality, and Support teams for issue resolution and system enhancements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders for implementation of regulatory and business-driven changes
  • Regulatory & Governance Support
  • Support implementation of RBI and regulatory reporting requirements across bureaus.
  • Ensure adherence to UCRF and bureau reporting standards.
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory observations related to data ingestion and data quality processes.
  • Participate in industry-wide data quality and validation initiatives.
  • Automation & Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and STP improvement.
  • Drive operational efficiency initiatives aimed at reducing manual intervention and improving TAT compliance.
  • Support implementation of enhanced monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Participate in system enhancement discussions and BRD preparation for operational improvements.
  • Contribute towards improving ingestion scalability, operational stability, and rejection reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Commerce, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Data Ingestion, Data Quality, Operations, Banking Operations, Credit Bureau Operations, or Financial Services domain.
  • Exposure to SQL, data analysis, reconciliation, and operational reporting.Prior experience in handling external client/member coordination and operational governance is preferred.
