The DASCHworks Manager needs a blend of program leadership, disability sector expertise, employer engagement experience and a deeply practical understanding of workforce inclusion. Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will bring progressive leadership experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, disability services, workforce development, social services or a related field with a demonstrated commitment to advancing meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities. Education Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline such as social work, disability studies, vocational rehabilitation, human resources, business, psychology, education or nonprofit management Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience will be considered Additional training or certification in inclusive employment, job coaching, case management, leadership or program development is considered an asset Professional Experience 5+ years of progressive experience in vocational programming, employment services, community inclusion, disability services or workforce development Experience leading programs that support adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in building employment readiness, workplace skills and long-term job retention Demonstrated experience supervising multidisciplinary teams, including employment facilitators, job coaches and instructors Experience with program design, implementation, evaluation and continuous quality improvement Proven ability to manage budgets, operational priorities, reporting requirements and program outcomes Employer and Community Partnership Development Significant experience developing and maintaining relationships with employers across multiple sectors such as retail, hospitality, manufacturing, administration, healthcare support, warehousing/logistics, customer service, food services and skilled trades Proven track record identifying, cultivating and expanding a network of inclusive employers willing to create employment opportunities, internships, work experience placements and customized job roles Strong business development and relationship management skills with the ability to engage employers by understanding workforce needs and aligning them with candidate strengths Experience negotiating partnerships, addressing employer concerns and supporting workplace accommodations and successful onboarding Established connections within local business communities, chambers of commerce, industry associations, government employment programs and community agencies are highly desirable. Sector Knowledge Strong understanding of inclusive employment models, customized employment, person-centred planning, job carving, workplace accommodations and employment equity practices Knowledge of barriers faced by adults with intellectual disabilities in accessing and maintaining employment, including transportation, benefits navigation, communication needs, workplace stigma and skills development Familiarity with provincial funding models, disability income supports, labour market trends and employment legislation relevant to adults with disabilities.
