About the role

This position is part of the Office of Management, Office of the Executive Secretariat, Department of Energy. As a Executive Correspondence Management Analyst, you will be proofreading and editing executive correspondence and documents for the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Under Secretaries of Energy, assuring materials are accurate, grammatically correct, follow appropriate formats, and promote clear Government communication that the public can understand and use. Basic Requirement: N/A GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following: Editing and proofreading business, technical, or official written documents (such as reports, letters, templates, or memos) to verify spelling, grammar, punctuation, and compliance with established formatting style guides. Tracking and monitoring the progress of internal and external correspondence actions, projects, or administrative tasks using spreadsheets, databases, or digital tracking systems. Coordinating and collaborating with team members, program or staff offices, or external partners to obtain status updates, request required information and ensure set deadlines are met. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, Communications, Office Administration/Management, Project Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following: Reviewing and proofreading complex written materials (such as executive correspondence, policy briefs, business reports, or official memos) for senior leadership to ensure grammatical correctness, appropriate tone, and alignment with organizational writing standards. Managing and tracking the progress of a high volume of documents, projects, or correspondence packages from initial draft to final signature using an electronic document management system or database. Coordinating across multiple departments, units, or external teams to gather background information, reconcile conflicting feedback on documents, and ensure strict deadlines are met. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Limit your resume to no more than two (2) pages.
