About the role

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: GS-07: One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B or J.D., if related. NOTE: Graduate education must provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Experience: GS-07 and GS-09: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-07: Experience assisting with interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal laws, Office of Personnel Management regulations, policies as they relate to human resource issues. Experience and or knowledge in providing assistance to others to properly operate and/or use automated human resource systems accordingly to reference manuals, policies and instructions. Knowledge with automated employment application systems. GS-09: Experience with interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal laws, Office of Personnel Management regulations, policies as they relate to human resource issues. Experience in providing technical assistance to others to properly operate and/or use automated human resource systems accordingly to reference manuals, policies and instructions. Experience with determining applicants' eligibility for a variety of federally classified positions and/or special hiring authorities as it relates to an agency's merit promotion plan. Experience in utilizing an automated staffing application system. OR Combination of Education and Experience GS-07 and GS-09: Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
